Let's continue our acquaintance with English translations of Yershov's fairy tale.

 In 1980, in the USA, published by "Farrar, Straus, Giroux, New York", a new edition of "Konik-Gorbunok" appeared - "The Little Humpbacked Horse" ("The Small Humpbacked Horse"). The dust jacket reads: "A Russian fairy tale, retold by Margaret Hodges with illustrations by Chris Conover." It's noted that at the same time, the same book is published in Canada.

  On the title page, the surnames of everyone involved in this publication are listed - translated by Gina Kovarsky, the binding made by A. Horowitz and Sons, design by Cynthia Krupat, calligraphy by Jeanyee Wong. The book was printed by "Eastern Press", USA, in hardcover, with a dust jacket. The dust jacket provides brief information about the retelling author and the illustrator. The entire fairy tale fits within 24 pages, of which 6 are fully occupied by illustrations. As stated on the title page, it's not a translation but a retelling. On the first page, there's a dedication - "To the storyteller in the kitchen. M.H", and "To my parents for their example of courage. S.S."

 Margaret "Peggy" Hodges (née Moore) (July 26, 1911, Indianapolis, Indiana - December 13, 2005, Pittsburgh) was an American children's writer, honorary professor of Children's Literature and Library Services at the School of Library and Information Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She authored 20 children's books.

As noted in the text on the dust jacket, "Under her sensitive guidance, Chris Conover transferred traditional Russian motifs into the book." Chris Conover was born in New York to a family of professional artists. She graduated from university; while she didn't receive specialized education as an illustrator, she began to illustrate children's books. Her illustrations are made with watercolor, pen, and ink.

 The translator, Gina Kovarsky, is a professor at Virginia College, teaching Russian literature and culture. Her father, Anatoly Kovarsky, an artist, was born in Moscow in 1919 in a Jewish family. After the revolution, the family ended up in Warsaw. He received an artistic education and lived in Vienna, Paris, Casablanca, and from 1928, in the USA. He worked for The New Yorker and is known as a cartoonist.

В 1980 году в США, в издательстве «Farrar. Straus. Giroux. New-York», появляется новое издание «Конька-Горбунка» - «The Little Humpbacked Horse» («Маленькая горбатая лошадь»). На суперобложке надпись: «Русская сказка, пересказанная Маргарет Ходжес (Margaret Hoges) с рисунками Крис Коновер (Chris Conover)». Oтмечено, что в то же время эта же книга публикуется в Канаде.

 На титульном листе перечислены фамилии всех, принявших участие в этом издании - перевод Джины Коварски (Gina Kovarsky), переплёт осуществлён A. Horowitz and Sons, дизайн - Cynthia Krupat, каллиграфия Jeanyee Wong. Книга напечатана «Eastern Press», США,  в твёрдом переплёте, в суперобложке. На суперобложке - краткая информация об авторе пересказа и иллюстраторе. Вся сказка поместилась на 24 страницах, из них 6 полностью заняты иллюстрациями. Как заявлено на титульном листе, это не перевод, а пересказ. На первой странице – посвящение –«Рассказчице сказки на кухне. М.H», и «Моим родителям за пример отваги. С.С.»
