A Beloved Fairy Tale at the Russian Center of San Francisco

On December 13, 2025, a New Year celebration for children took place at the Russian Center of San Francisco.

My mother and I were invited to participate in this joyful event with our exhibition of illustrations and foreign editions of the fairy tale “The Little Humpbacked Horse,” written in 1834 by my great-great-grandfather, Pyotr Pavlovich Ershov.

It was especially meaningful for us to see the genuine interest of both children and adults in this story, which for nearly two centuries has united generations of readers and continues to live on in many countries and cultures.

Those who were unable to attend the celebration but would like to see the exhibition will have another opportunity soon.

We warmly invite you to the Slavic Festival, which will take place on January 31 – February 1 at the same venue, the Russian Center of San Francisco.

13 декабря 2025 года в Русский Центр Сан‑Франциско состоялся новогодний праздник для детей.

Мы с мамой были приглашены принять участие в этом тёплом и радостном событии с нашей выставкой рисунков и зарубежных изданий сказки «Конёк-Горбунок», написанной в 1834 году моим прапрадедом — Пётр Павлович Ершов.

Для нас было особенно важно видеть живой интерес детей и взрослых к этой истории, которая вот уже почти два века объединяет поколения читателей и продолжает жить в разных странах и культурах.

Те, кто не смог побывать на этом празднике, но хотел бы увидеть выставку, смогут сделать это совсем скоро.

Приглашаем вас на Славянский фестиваль, который пройдёт 31 января – 1 февраля в том же Русском Центре Сан-Франциско.
